The important breakthrough in the last decenia in Exploration and Production has been in the seismic . Especially the introduction of the three dimensional seismic method in the mid seventies has inpacted the subsurface insight in E&Pdramaticly.
Inteligent/smart oil fields require an inteligent operator interface.A combination of a smart CAD model of the production facilities were condition of e.g. flow parameters are diplayed in real time takes operatorship to the next level.
There are three different phases identification, evaluation, marketing and excecution. TT efforts are mainly concentrated at the identification, evaluation and marketing phase.
Identification
TT searches for potential breakthroughs in the marketplace by attending conferences, workshops, studying publications, and listening to a virtual network of specialist within and outside the oil industry.
A more detailed study is made of subjects which pass this first screening phase. If still judged to be a serious candidate an exploratory visit of a few days is made to the technology provider. A report is written were all issues of interest to the energy partner are treated.
During this first phase TT works on a "No cure no pay" basis to the technology provider.
Evaluation
A pool of experts is asked for their opinion on the added value potential and the uniqueness of the proposition
The project proposal is presented to an Energy Company
If potential and revolutionary aspects are confirmed an internal champion is sought within the Energy Company
Total elapsed time for this phase typically 3 months.
Marketing and Execution
In case a GO decision is made resources are dedicated by the Receiving Company to mature the project for application leading eventually to a field-test provided project milestones are met along the way
If a NO-GO decision is made the proposal is returned to TT and another market player may be approached.
The Evaluation phase and Execution phase are characterised by creating a win-win situation for all parties involved.
Receiving Companies can negotiate a contract with TT. In case a Receiving Company decides to a Technology Take Up and provided the project is not in the public domain, an exclusivity contract for such project for a certain application range and for a certain period may be negotiated with TT and the technology provider.
